Beal & Friends to Headline Concert

Nairobi, Kenya -- Meredith Beal & Friends will headline the opening night concert at Broadcast Film Music Africa 2014 (BFMA), the region’s largest entertainment event and one of the continent’s largest gatherings of professionals from Africa's creative communities. The concert will be Monday May 27, 5:30-10pm at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi. The show will be broadcasted live on the Internet on the Pax Stereo TV Network (www.paxstereo.tv) and the Soto Koto TV Network (www.sotokoto.tv/).

In addition to being a multi-instrumentalist, Beal is a virtuoso on the chromatic harmonica and has gathered Kenyan musicians to accompany his performance. The band includes Danger on bass guitar, George Nzuki on drums, Moses Muthungu on keyboards and Miriam Ayoo and Marian Akinyi on vocals.

In addition to the concert, Beal, who also serves as Music Content Director for the BFMA, organized a number of showcase performances of up-and-coming African artists over the two-day conference as well as organizing panel discussions on music production and distribution. The panels include recording artist Juliani, music company executives including Ernie Singleton, former President of MCA records with more than 135 gold and platinum records to his credit, artist managers, distribution platforms, copyright regulators and others.
